- Title
Congregationalism E: Making The Way for Emergent Generations.
- Authors
Wood, Joel Enoch
- Abstract
With many American Congregations imbedded in long-standing tradition, Joel Enoch Wood encourages them to look at the truly dynamic entity American Congregationalism once was for how to re-introduce themselves to a post-modern generation that is now coming up through the ranks. After identifying some basics in post-modern thought, and laying out the task at hand, he takes the reader through the distinctives of Christ, Commitment, Covenant, Community, Cooperation, and Congregational Meetinghouses, and concludes the Congregationalists are more fit than any to accomplish this endeavor. A Pastoral Postscript encourages pastors and congregants to press on and dream big for God in this new generation.
