- Abstract
This article presents information on activities of the American Personnel and Guidance Association Inc. (APGA). APGA's Financial Report, 1967-68, and its Balance Sheet for the fiscal year ended April 30, 1968. Fiscal year 1967-68 was the best year financially in APGA's history with the realization of approximately $41,655 in surplus. This was achieved by underspending the budget by $23,454 and realizing $18,203 more income than APGA had anticipated and budgeted. This improved fiscal situation was achieved because of excellent budget control and no increase in APGA headquarters staff. The experience of the past fiscal year indicates that a number of innovations effected by APGA headquarters staff in the last two years continues to increase income to those programs which are intended to be self-supporting. Members of its Business and Finance Department as directed by Gene Hunter, Assistant Executive Director for Business and Finance, have continued to keep APGA's financial affairs in good order. They have introduced refinements in financial management of APGA which results in more effective utilization of the dues dollar. Stoy, Malone & Co., Certified Public Accountants, have examined the Balance Sheet of APGA, as of April 30, 1968. APGA's Balance Sheet audit was conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and therefore included such tests of the accounting records and such other auditing procedures as the Accountants considered necessary in the circumstances.
