- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the Old Testament of the Bible's Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53. Particular focus is given to the depiction of the mission of Jesus Christ within the aforementioned books of the Old Testament, including in regard to His suffering and His relationship with God. An overview of the Christian theologian Saint Augustine's perspective on the Old Testament's Book of Psalms is provided.
