- Abstract
The continuous phase modulation ( CPM) method based on prolate spheroidal wave function (PSWF) signals(CPM-PSWF) is a novel digital modulation method, and the optimization of modulation parameters is directly related to the performance of the modulated signal. It is important to analyze the influence of different modulation parameters on the performance of CPM-PSWF signals, and to optimize the selection of modulation parameters, so as to obtain CPM signals with high energy concentration and power efficiency. First, the CPM-PSWF signal is described. Secondly, the Welch spectral density estimation method is used to simulate and analyze the effects of different parameters such as time-bandwidth product, modulation index, and correlation length on the power spectral density and bandwidth characteristics of CPMPSWF modulated signals. The experimental results show that when the 0 order PSWF signal, small time band width product, modulation index and symbol base number are smaller, and the correlation length is larger, the CPM-PSWF signal has the features of high-frequency roll-off fast outside the frequency band and a small occupied bandwidth.
