- Abstract
The noise distribution characteristics are derived by analyzing the probability model of the amplitude difference of the digital pulse signal, and the time-domain adaptive threshold for pulse signal detection is proposed. The threshold can be obtained directly by calculating the mean value of the absolute value of the amplitude difference. The first advantage of the proposed algorithm is that the threshold value is determined only by noise statistics, independent of signal amplitude, which avoids the missed detection for the weak signal close to a big signal, due to the suddenly rising detection threshold pulled by the big signal in the traditional adaptive algorithm. The second advantage is the lower computational complexity so it is suitable for implementation on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) hardware platform with high real-time requirements and insufficient resources, which provides support for the real-time acquisition of pulse signal and subsequent reconnaissance.
