- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a study which examined emergency care in four urban hospitals located in culturally and socioeconomically diverse countries. Demographic and facilities data is presented including the hospital locations, the number of annual attendances, and the types of attendances. An evaluation of staffing per shift is also provided. Similarities and differences were identified. The study found that the most notable difference in emergency care was in patient load.
