- Abstract
This essay discusses the concept of multitude relating to the 1999 World Trade Organization (WTO) protest in Seattle, Washington as narrated in the book "Multitude" by Antonio Negri and Michael Hardt, and the emergence of populism. Topics discussed are influence of the uprisings in shaping the anti-globalization movement, resistance of the working class to global capitalism and oppression as a strategy for representation and identity, and populism as an expression of American democracy.
