- Abstract
The article discusses a study on house dust mite molecular allergen (MA) sensitization among children. The study found that sensitization levels and the number of individual sensitizations increase with age, and certain MA mono-sensitizations are clinically relevant. However, the study's hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) was unable to determine if a particular MA was associated with an increased risk of allergic rhinitis or a decreased risk of atopic dermatitis. The article suggests that Bayesian Network Analysis, such as latent class analysis, would be a better approach for analyzing large datasets and understanding regional sensitization profiles.
