- Abstract
The article looks at the natural characteristics of the territories historically inhabited by Persian peoples and known as Iran. The author discusses the interaction between people and nature and gives examples from the Persian literature. The author further focuses on the geographic location of Iran and its angle towards the Sun. The role of the Sun in the Iranian civilization is explored in relation with the traditional cultural concept of “Mehr.”
