- Abstract
The article discusses research which examines the effectiveness of amniotic membrane dressings in the treatment of the autoimmune disease, systemic sclerosis (SSc). The sequellae of SSc included ischaemia-induced ulceration, digital ulcers (DU) and lower extremity and elbow ulcerations. Also discussed are a description of amniotic membrane, and proteins in the amniotic membrane dressing that are important in wound healing.
