- Abstract
The article presents information on three essays, written by Wen Zhengde and Wen Xiongfei, on their journey from the U.S. to China. The first essay by Wen Zhengde provides insights into the arrival of her father in California from China in the late 1800s. This essay is followed by Wen Xiongfei's account of the growing sense of nationalism and revolutionary fervor among the Chinese in San Francisco during the early 1900s. The final essay by Wen Zhengde details her ordeal during the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China during the 1960s and 1970s.
