- Abstract
This article shows the ENT clinic's experience from "St. Andrew" Emergency Clinical County Hospital of Galaţi and refers to the evolutive diagnosis and therapeutic aspects of atypical otitis suppurations. The study is not necessarily a statistical one, but more of a discussion followed by conclusions based on the clinical activity and experience from the last 20 years. In this period, in the "Apostle Andrew" Clinical Emergency Hospital of Galati were operated almost 272 chronic otomastoiditis with effusion and chronic otitis media with effusion. Among these cases there were identified about 21 cases with atypical evolution of the otomastoidian block caused by malformations requiring complex investigations and imposing common treatment. The cases under discussion showed an atypical anatomical otomastoidian block which is less known and discussed in the literature. The discussions about the atypical anatomical and pathophysiological conditions and therapeutic considerations are appropriate.
