- Abstract
The article titled "Independent Dual-Band Bound States in the Continuum Supported by Double Asymmetric Periodic Gratings in Germanium-Based Structure" discusses a new approach to achieving dual-band bound states in the continuum (BICs) on an all-dielectric metasurface. The authors, Shubin Zhang, Meixue Zong, Zhengji Xu, and their colleagues, propose and demonstrate this strategy experimentally. The two BIC modes, supported by air gaps and gratings, can be controlled independently under normal incidence conditions. These dual-band quasi-BICs have a high Q-factor and show potential for applications in nonlinear optics, miniature spectrometers, multimode lasers, and optical image encryption.
