- Abstract
The article offers information on the sero-group a meningococcal conjugate vaccine PsA-TT (MenAfriVac) which has been introduced by Burkina Faso to eliminate epidemic meningitis in sub-Saharan Africa through a national mass-immunization campaign. It informs that approximately 70 percent of the population of the country is administered with 11 million vaccines for an estimated administrative coverage. It also a mention that in December 17-27, 2011, a national survey has been conducted by using a stratified cluster sampling scheme to assess PsA-TT coverage achieved by the mass immunization campaign which shows high vaccination coverage in Burkina Faso. It further mentions that high population immunity is required for eliminating the epidemics of sero-group A meningococcal meningitis.
