- Abstract
In the pediatric population, Leydig cell tumour is a rare neoplasm presenting most commonly with precocious puberty. Correct diagnosis requires knowledge of the differential diagnosis and appropriate imaging in patients presenting in this fashion. Its etiology is unclear, but in the majority of children it is benign. Tumours are typically of testicular origin; however, few case reports of extratesticular lesions exist in the literature. Treatment classically involves orchiectomy, but testiclesparing surgeries are becoming more commonplace with the realization of the benign biology in most pediatric cases. Herein, we present two cases of Leydig cell tumour, one of which arose as a paratesticular mass. Both presented with precocious puberty and were treated with testicle-sparing surgery following appropriate work-up. In addition, we present a brief discussion and review of the available literature.
