- Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the species composition of micromycetes filamentous fungi in the phyllosphere of iris Iris L., which cause a reduction of the decorative value of the irises in the collection of the ornamental plants of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Horticulture at the University of Agriculture in Krakow. The research material consisted of leaves of 15 taxa of beardless irises with disease symptoms. 300 infested leaf fragments were collected in 2013-2014 for mycological analyses. 396 fungi colonies belonging to 20 species were isolated from the infested tissues. Alternaria alternata and Epicoccum nigrum were the dominant species. The following were numerous: Ch. globosum, A. sphaerospermum and N. inventa. Research confirmed the diversity of fungi dwelling in the iris Iris L. phyllosphere. The dependence between the mass colonization of plant tissues and weather conditions conducive to the appearance of fungal diseases was demonstrated. The taxa susceptibility for infection was determined.
