- Abstract
This article deals with one of the most current issues in Theology, namely, religious pluralism. This can be counted among those signs of the times that the Second Vatican Council affirms that is the mission and duty of the Church to scrutinize. The Theological reflection must seek a positive valuation and an awareness of the current challenges facing religious pluralism. Vatican II, in its agenda, addressed this reality when referring to non-Christian religions, a practically unheard of theme in a virgin terrain in the ecclesial scope. This Theology, still under construction, reverberated deeply in the Magisterium of post-conciliar popes (John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis). Thus, in this article some theological models present in the dialogue with Religions are presented. Then, it discusses the resonances that the theology of religious pluralism found in Vatican II. Finally, it highlights which aspects represent both continuity and/or discontinuity regarding the issue of inter-religious dialogue present in the Magisterium of post-conciliar popes.
