- Authors
Russell, Sue
- Abstract
The author discusses the importance of early childhood education in young children. She compares the expectations, status, and pay that many European countries have for early childhood teachers with those of the U.S. She stresses that much work remains to be done in early childhood care and education (ECCE) professional development in the U.S. She notes that the U.S. must ensure that every investment it makes is aimed to workforce professional development, recognition and compensation.
