- Abstract
Patients with a chronic kidney disease more often suffer from an ischaemic heart disease. Atherosclerotic lesions in coronary arteries of patients with a renal failure are disseminated and often calcified, and carrying out a percutaneus revascularization is only possible with the application of techniques modifying atherosclerotic plaques, mainly rotational atherectomy (rotablation). We present a case of 62 years old hemodialyzed patient with 3rd myocardial infarction without STsegment elevation, and a multivessel disease with a critical stenosis of the left main coronary artery and major lesions in left anterior descending branch, circumflex artery and RCA right coronary artery. He was successfully treated with rotational atherectomy. After almost one year the patient remains stable. Apart from one incident of retrosternal pain during haemodialysis, the patient negates angina pain.
