- Abstract
The article describes the case of an 18-month old alpaca who has been found dead and was detected with Nematodirus lamae infection on necropsy. Other parasites detected in the animal were Haemonchus, Ostertagia/Teladorsagia, and Trichostrongylus species adult worms. It attributes the poor condition of the animal to gastrointestinal parasitism and suboptimal feeding and discusses the dissemination of parasites via transport of South American camelids.
