- Title
Forensic Examination.
- Authors
Brock, Lloyd M.
- Abstract
The article focuses on forgery in the U.S. sports memorabilia industry as of November 1999. The author cites reasons for the dearth of progress in addressing forgeries, including the shortage of qualified handwriting experts in this field and the low level of priority that law enforcement agencies give to this crime. The author, who has been authenticating autographed memorabilia, claims that forgers are braver and even brag to others about their crimes. The author recommends training some document examiners on the authentication of memorabilia.
