Response to: Comment on: Effectiveness of nail bed repair in children with or without replacing the fingernail: NINJA multicentre randomized clinical trial.

Gardiner, Matthew D
- Abstract
This document is a response to a comment on the effectiveness of nail bed repair in children with or without replacing the fingernail. The authors thank the commenter for their input and clarify that surgical-site infection was recorded up to 4 months after surgery, and the Oxford Fingernail Appearance Score was used to assess nail cosmesis. The authors believe that the results of the randomized clinical trial provide sufficient information to guide clinical decision-making and recommend discarding the nail plate. The document includes the author's contributions and a reference to the original study.
