- Title
Cluster Bombs vs. Open Hearts.
- Authors
KOEHLER, ROBERT
- Abstract
The article discusses the complexity of maintaining and reclaiming our deepest values, such as love and connection, in the face of war and conflict. It criticizes the tendency to simplify these values into religious or national identities, which can lead to violence and dehumanization of others. The article specifically addresses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the role of Zionism, arguing that it has become a false idol that justifies violence. It also highlights the growing movement to protest and divest from the military-industrial complex and the Israeli war machine, as well as the efforts to stifle criticism of Israel through legislation. The article emphasizes the need to recognize the interconnectedness of all human beings and to open our hearts to understanding one another.
