- Abstract
The article discusses the challenges faced by the U.S. government in protecting victims of child sex trafficking and how detaining them in youth detention centers could worsen their trauma and undermine trust in the justice system. Other topics include the provisions of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), and the proposed public health approach to be adopted by communities to address the needs of youth at risk.
