The article offers information on the superhigh-density, hedge-row olive production scheme developed by scientists to reduce labor costs and bringing olive plantations into full production quickly in California. According to Joe Connell UCCE farm advisor for Butte County, they have introduced the scheme throughout the world, with potential benefits. It notes that young olive oil industry uses up-to-date farming and pressing methods to make oils altogether different from European oils.
