- Abstract
The article reviews the poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning who composed "The Runaway Slave at Pilgrim's Point" for inclusion in an 1848 antislavery gift book, "The Liberty Bell". Topics include considered that it puts together discourses that clearly belong together, though it can be difficult to see them at the same time and like a benefit concert, in which famous contributors gather to raise money, often in response to a singular event or crisis.
