The article presents criticism on the children's nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty" and the book "Through the Looking-Glass," by Lewis Carroll. Particular focus is given to Alice, the protagonist in "Through the Looking-Glass," and her comments about fishes. Additional topics discussed include the presentation of "Humpty Dumpty's Song" in Carroll's writing, the poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter," by Carroll, and details relating to the rhyming and structure of Carroll's poetry.
