The essay explores the relationship between author and reader formed by the frames of poetry offered by Lord Alfred Tennyson, focusing on the poems “Morte d’Arthur" and "The Epic." It considers the contemporary criticism of Tennyson's 1842 book "Poems" written by Leigh Hunt which questioned the editorial comments contained within the volume. It focusing on the Tennyson's use of valedictory as a mode of address defined as a farewell given by a departing figure.
