The article discusses the implications of fishing in the Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota with continued enforcement of the 1837 treaty of St. Peters. Topics discussed include dire condition of fishery despite several efforts of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the case Minnesota v. Mille Lacs Band of Chippewa Indians, and Native American treaty-based usufructuary rights.
