- Abstract
A literary criticism of the play "As You Like It," by William Shakespeare is presented. It examines the play's investment in racialized binary of lightness and darkness, the origins of whiteness as property, the acknowledgement of whiteness by characters Celia and Rosalind, and the existence of a sense of whiteness as property in early modern England.
