- Abstract
The effectiveness of two ways to reduce the vibration and sound emission of a high-pressure laminate plate has been investigated. It has been found that the inclusion of viscoelastic polymer polyvinyl acetate film in the laminate structure or constrained damping layer treatment based on polyvinyl acetate film and aluminum foil or plastic leads to a significant improvement in its vibroacoustic characteristics. The greatest reduction in vibration and sound emission was achieved by applying a coating with aluminum foil whose thickness was six times less than that of the damped laminate plate.
