- Abstract
The article presents the results of the study on examining the effect of various concentrations of selenium dioxide on the growth of Anacystis nidulans. The A. nidulans were cultured by direct count using Spencer spectrophotometer and indirect turbidometric reading by employing a Beckmann Spectronic 1001 spectrophotometer. Cells were cultured in medium with or without the chelator diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) to determine its effectiveness in reducing toxicity. It was revealed that the culture media prepared with EDTA had significantly greater growth compare with other experimental cultures.
