- Abstract
The antidiabetic properties of P. fossulatus and P. opuntiea were unexplored before this study. These oyster mushrooms were cultivated in laboratory condition and their growth time was observed. The P. fossulatus has grown in approximately 20 days after spawn inoculation and P. opuntiea has grown in about 15 days. After harvesting the fruiting bodies, washed with distilled water and kept in shade for air-dry. After 7 days the dried fruiting bodies were ground to make fine powder than by using milli Q water the extraction was carried out by soxhelet method. After extraction a-amylase assay was performed. P. fossulatus was found best in a-amylase inhibition action then acarbose which were used as drug control in the assay.
