The article discusses the portrayals of the immortal character John Falstaff, particularly on television. Other topics include the portrayal by actor/director Orson Welles of the Falstaff character, the comment of critic Harold Bloom on Falstaff as he appeared in the William Shakespeare play "Henry IV," the films featuring Falstaff like "My Own Private Idaho," as well as the television adaptations like "An Age of Kings" and "The Hollow Crown."
