- Abstract
This article discusses a case of Opsoclonus Myoclonus Ataxia Syndrome (OMAS) following dengue viral fever in a 39-year-old male patient. The patient experienced symptoms such as tremulousness, swaying while walking, truncal imbalance, head titubation, and ataxic dysarthria. The article describes the patient's examination findings, including rapid eye movements, myoclonus, and ataxia. The patient was treated with intravenous methyl prednisolone and IV immunoglobulin, which resulted in significant improvement. The article also provides information on the global prevalence of dengue and the rare neurological manifestations associated with the infection. The causes and pathogenesis of OMAS are discussed, and the article concludes by emphasizing the importance of early identification and prompt treatment for a good clinical outcome.
