- Abstract
The article focuses on economic and financial problems which were faced in the railroad recapitalization in the U.S. It mentions that bankruptcies of the railroad industries were managed by railroad reorganization, foreclosure sales to new railroad company, and formulation of capital structures. It informs that railroad recapitalization and reorganization were governed under the Section 77 of the Bankruptcy law of the U.S. It investigates how the cost of railroad construction projects were set up on the books of the reorganized company to balance with capitalization approved by the Interstate Commerce Commission.
