- Title
COVERAGE OF STATE UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION LAWS.
- Authors
LOTWIN, BERNIECE N.
- Abstract
The article presents detailed information on state unemployment compensation laws in the U.S. It is stated that Title IX of the Social Security Act has equalized competitive costs among states, as far as contributions by employers to the unemployment compensation funds are concerned. The territorial coverage of a state unemployment compensation law is discussed as significant, citing the comparatively wide territorial range in which a specific employer's workers move. As mentioned, unemployment compensation laws are based on an employer-employee relationship, that may come into force through a contract.
