Changes in Ethnic Attitudes of Jewish Youth in Johannesburg.
- Authors
Dubb, Allie A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the changes in ethnic attitudes of Jewish youth in Johannesburg, South Africa, highlighted in a study by Henry Lever using the Social Distance Scale devised by Emory S. Bogardus. Two hypotheses were postulated by the study, including that in 1969, Jewish students would exhibit less social distance towards other white ethnic groups than their counterparts in 1943. The other hypothesis is that it could be expected that Jewish students would exhibit less social distance towards other white ethnic groups than Jewish high-school children.
