- Abstract
This article presents a case report on management of extensive congenital fibrosarcoma with preoperative chemotherapy. Presenting at birth or during the early years of life, congenital or infantile fibrosarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor, which acts very differently to its adult counterpart) Though most of the tumors occur in the extremities, 29% of cases present in axial locations. Axial lesions tend to exhibit a more aggressive behavior as demonstrated by higher metastatic and mortality rates (2 6%) and hence require more intense forms of Surgery plays an important role in the treatment of fibrosarcoma; however, the extent and position of some lesions can render it mutilating in nature.
