- Abstract
In this article, the author examines various issues relating to the research of the unique qualities and aesthetics of dance. Particular focus is given to observations on the topic from the dance critic John Martin. Topics examined include how trained dancers are potentially privileged dance art appreciators, the aesthetics of movement and science experiments relating to the practice of dance. Insights from the philosopher Noël Carroll, the philosopher Graham McFee and the philosopher Barbara Montero are also offered.
