- Abstract
This study employs the educational perspective of the educational field to explore the leadership traits and management styles of outstanding principals in rural areas. Through a discussion of trait theory, and drawing on the four DISC trait categories, ten case representatives are identified: (1) Dominant type: Merit style, Action style; (2) Influence type: Servant style, Star style, Comprehensive style; (3) Steady Type: Veteran style, Buddhist style; and (4) Analytical type: theoretical style, flexible style, and pragmatic style. Collaborating with the case representative principals, in-depth interviews and discussions were conducted to analyze the external and internal factors that influenced the formation of each principal leadership beliefs and management concepts, so that it could demonstrate the outstanding leadership styles and management characteristics. After thorough research and analysis, ten principal traits emerge. In addition to strong influence from family members and past educators, a significant factor is the environment in which they were raised, which translated into their strong motivation.
