- Abstract
The article focuses on a study about the association between obesity and an increased prevalence and incidence of pain in older adults. The study involved adult subjects aged 55-85 years at baseline who are based in the Netherlands and examined through main and medical interviews. Results of the study showed that male subjects posted a 25.6% prevalence of pain at baseline while that of the women was at 39.7%. It is concluded that a higher risk of developing pain during daily activities exists among obese older adults.
