- Abstract
The article refers to a study which reports about the women who are prone to chlamydia risk. Among 1,348 women of San Francisco, California aged between 13-50, 9% tested positive for chlamydial infection. Women below the age of 25, those with a chronically irritated cervix, single women and those with a new partner in the past three months were at significantly increased chlamydia risk. On the other hand, those who used barrier methods of contraception were at a significantly reduced risk. All Chlamydia-positive women had at least one of these characteristics.
