- Title
Managing the Ultimate Corporate Risk.
- Authors
Leitner, Peter J.
- Abstract
The article discusses corporate risk and states that while cash flows are typically the most important success factors for businesses, enterprise value is a concept that must be recognized. According to the author, the best companies correlate executive and employee compensation to enterprise value. The concept of 'value at risk' is introduced as useful in hedging against risk in private companies. The most typical organizational challenges are loss of a key executive, changing prices of raw materials, or bankruptcy for a vendor or competitor.
