- Title
Evolution of direct-developing larvae: selection vs loss.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article reports on the dynamics of sea urchin larvae development with emphasis on two observed life history strategies that the organism employs. The first strategy involves the production of numerous eggs which become a larva with a certain feeding period in the water column prior to metamorphosis. On the other hand, the second strategy requires the production of fewer large eggs which become a larva that does not need to be feed thereby reducing time to metamorphosis.
