- Abstract
The article discusses research regarding the potential relationship between acute Zika virus infections and the risks factors for the autoimmune disorder Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), and it mentions a Zika virus epidemic in Puerto Rico, as well as information about flavivirus transmissions involving Aedes species mosquitoes. Positive reverse transcription–polymerase chain reactions and neurologic illness diagnoses and GBS treatments.
