- Authors

- Abstract
The article examines the registration of playwright William Shakespeare's plays "Doctor Faustus," "Tamburlaine the Great" and "The Taming of the Shrew" to the record book Stationer's Register. It relates the first know performance of the play "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Newington Butts theater in Surrey. It claims that following the publication and performance of "The Taming of the Shrew," the earliest reference to "Doctor Faustus" was known. It examines the argument of authors Arthur Golding and George Gascoigne on these works.
