- Abstract
Cuba, although with less frequency than the rest of the world, is a country that does not escape from AIDS pandemic. Since some years ago there are news about the relationship among infectious diseases, immunodeficiencies and allergic manifestations, which share certain cells, cytokines and pathogenic mechanisms, without a consensus to date. In the daily practice it is observed increased allergic diseases in these patients, even in those without personal nor family history. This article offers a panoramic of current research and theories related to AIDS and allergic diseases. Due to the great interconnections that distinguish immune system, both processes may have expressions of the same problem: immune system dysfunction.
