- Authors
Weiner, Hollace Ava
- Abstract
The article focuses on the religious practice of the Beth-el congregation, a Conservative Judaism synagogue, in Fort Worth, Texas. It was in 1902 when the Beth-El was chartered wherein it implemented a change in its worship. They have adopted the modern twentieth-century style of worship which was known as the on the reform plan worship. As part of the changes, the superstitious customs were discarded like the breaking of the glass during wedding celebrations. This type of worship has replaced the chanting in ancient tongue with listening to an organ and choir. Moreover, the congregants of the religion were taught that U.S. was their Promised Land.
