- Abstract
The article presents the part one of the paper entitled "Jews of Del Norte County, California: The Wolf Morris Family." It explores the northernmost county of California which is the Del Norte and best known for its Redwood National Park. It notes that the county was founded in 1852 partially to serve as a port for southern Oregon's mines. It highlights how Wolf Morris came to Del Norte and eventually settled in. It mentions the first land purchase of Morris in Del Norte county on April 30, 1877 for 206 dollars of gold coin.
